“We’ve increased our flight frequency to Kisumu over the weekend to accommodate the high travel demand. We remain committed to ensuring seamless travel for all our guests,” KQ said in its statement.
The increased demand for travel to Kisumu has also led to a temporary rise in ticket prices, with a return flight from Nairobi currently averaging about KSh25,160.
The move underscores the significant national attention surrounding Odinga’s burial, as Kenyans from across the country make plans to attend or travel to the Nyanza region to pay their final respects.
